Thanks again for this public modeling service. It DIRECTLY helped me modify my 1978 Revell Galactica to some semblance of decency.

It just begs a bigger scale, but for what it is, much better because of your pix.
Chris
Frack. Don't know if that link works.
ReplyDeleteMaybe this:

Hi Chris, thanks for sharing those images. And I have to agree your kit looks so much better with some modifications done to her. The Revellogram kit was just really so badly moloded that she wasn't even included in the last re-issue rom Revell.
ReplyDeleteBruce, I have a theory that the sculptor was doing really well until someone asked when it would be finished, and when he answered, his superiour said "No good. Just wrap it up NOW."
ReplyDeleteSo that's why the unfinished parts came out that way. I mean, some of it was really pretty good for that scale, and the unfinished parts are just horrid- no in between.
HAHAHA .... I like that theory. Could possibly happen too.
ReplyDeleteActually I found out from a reliable source (from someone who worked with Revell in a discussion board quite a while back) the reason is licensing. The more accurate the kit is, the more they had to pay. And since BSG was the main star, you could imagine the cost Revell had to pay just to get that ship accurate. They would have a hard time just to break even.
That's why I'm thankful to Garage Kits.
