Part 1 - Reference for the Classic Battlestar Galactica Studio Model

For those still trying to accurize their Revellogram Galactica kit, and are worried about "rivet counter comments", here are a lot of images from the Studio Model taken courtesy of Kurt Kuhn of Modelermagic.com. These were taken from the Gary Cannavo Collection, and the images have been proclaimed by Mr. Kuhn to become "Public Domain", meaning everyone now have access to them.

Hence with respect to Mr. Kuhn, I am presenting some of them here. Please note that all images highlighted here from that site have been scaled back by 50%. If you wish to have those really nice BIG juicy images and there are lots of them, you will need to go to the link above to get them.

Do take note that although this studio model is the same one used during the filming of the TV series, restoration work was being done to her at the time these images were taken. Hence they are not accurate in terms of what was seen on TV. According to Mr. Kuhn with regards to this studio model:

"Now, it should be noted that these photos were taken by Chris Pappas directly after the Mark Bradley restoration was done. What this means is that while these photos are detailed, this is not accurate (part for part) to how it was originally seen on screen.

However, the good news is that the owner of the Galactica Studio Filming Model, and my friend, Gary Cannavo has since spent thousands of dollars restoring this original filming model to it’s original specs… part for part! It can now be seen in it’s original glory on Gary’s site BATTLEBUCK.COM "

So you can use them as a source of reference but if you are adamant about building yours as accuragte as possible, you will need to screen capture scenes from the show. Here are some screen caps of how the mighty ship did look like on screen :

Studio Model? Not sure about these images but they do look close
